Whiting True Blue
Excellent & Consistent Layers
A relatively new breed
Reliable and easy to care for
A relatively new breed, developed by Dr. Tom Whiting that breeds true for egg colour. His original intention was for feather development for the fly fishing industry. But soon learned all these great features that backyard chicken enthusiasts were looking for too. It is a heat and cold hardy bird that is independent and a great forager. One of the best for food to egg ratio as well. It is quickly becoming one of the most requested day old chicks on Vancouver Island.

Deeper Details
Egg Production
280-300 eggs per year in medium to large blue, very consistent layer.
Temperament
A wide variety of behaviours because of the cross breeding, but generally they are very friendly and social birds.
Backyard Behaviour
They socialize well with others. Usually in the middle of the pecking order. Because they are smart about predators they are an excellent addition to a flock.
Top Egg Layers
ISA Brown
These birds were bred to produce eggs and lots of them. These are by far, the very best for first time chicken owners. They have very few problems while being relatively maintenance free.
