White Leghorn
A Beautiful Choice For Eggs
Hardy & Healthy
Prolific Egg Layers
Remember Foghorn Leghorn? This is his family. They are intelligent and active birds that love to forage but get easily bored in a confined space. Also not great mothers, so if you want chicks put those precious eggs under another hen or fire up the incubator. They are strong flyers and will roost in trees if allowed. Not particularly child friendly, but they can be trained if done so as chicks. By far one of the best white egg layers and they continue laying 8 – 10 weeks longer than most hens. Sturdy, very resistant to disease and their feed to egg ratio makes this one of the best hens if eggs are your goal.
