We make it simple.
Let us know which chicks you want and we will hunt down day old chicks from some of the best breeders. Typically breeders require larger orders and are off-island requiring lots of extra cost and risk. American day old chicks are the least expensive, but have to be picked up in the US (meaning increased travel costs, regulations such as licence to use for vehicle for transport, Canada customs import regulations – $75 USD health papers, a US postal box for delivery, etc.). And many things can go wrong – you can be held up at the border, waiting for a veterinarian to come and approve the import (it has happened).
We bundle up everyones orders and go get them for you.
We recommend getting day old chicks. We have always enjoyed raising them and watching them grow. At first we have them in our house, but by the time they are mid size chicks, we find it is time to move them outside into a protected coup with a heat source. We recommend that they be raised away from other birds, particularly larger ones.
How Ordering Works
Contact us for which chicks you are looking for, and if you only want one or two of each type of chick, we can easily accommodate that. Chicks can be sexed when I order from hatcheries, but those incubated here will not be. We will inform you of what is available for you to choose from or if you wish place an order for our next shipment.
We source out large hatcheries to see what is upcoming, and place a bulk order to reduce the all the potential costs and time for you. If for some reason your chicks do not arrive, even though the hatchery said they were on their way, you can have a full refund. Or you may choose to use that deposit on any available chicks that we have on hand or ask us to hold your deposit in priority and continue to locate those specific chicks for you.
We require a minimum 50% deposit on all orders. Or you can pay in full at time of order. Priority of available chicks is given to full payment, and then partial payments (deposits) base on date payment is received.
But if you cancel your order, there is no refund.
Shortly before your chicks are scheduled to be here on the island, we will remind you of what you need before picking them up and and then we set up the time for you to receive your chicks.

We also offer a Breeding Program
For those interested in our breeding program and want to participate in raising a specific breed of chicken, please contact us. We can provide the first clutch of 15 hens and rooster, replacing them as needed in return for eggs. You raise them and 4 times a year we ask for 50 eggs (at current egg selling rate to cover your costs of feeding them). The rest of the year the eggs are for you and your family to enjoy.
We also offer incubator services for chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys.
