Easter Egger
A Much Loved Hybrid
Mixed Breed Stunners
Suprise Colours
Friendly, curious and gentle make this an excellent family bird. Because they are so gentle they often get bullied by more aggressive hens. No one chicken is the same because of the mixed breeding. Because blue eggs are so desirable but the Auracana had difficulties in both breeding and egg laying. Breeder began crossing them with other birds to create the Easter Egger. Because of this both eggs and plumage vary greatly color variations blue, green and rarely sometimes pink. What ever colour that hen lays she will continue, it never varies. She is not a very good brooder, so another hen or incubator is best when wanting to hatch her eggs.
